What It's Like to Work There
Move fast and break things has evolved into move fast with stable infrastructure, but the urgency is still real. Open floor plans, lots of cross-functional collaboration, and a strong data-driven culture. Impact is the main currency.
Resume Tips for Meta
Show impact at scale. Meta operates at billions-of-users scale, so experience with high-traffic systems, large datasets, or global products stands out.
Highlight speed of execution. Meta ships fast and iterates. Show projects where you moved quickly, ran experiments, and iterated based on data.
If you've worked on social, messaging, or ads systems, lead with that. It's directly relevant to their core business.
Include your coding language strengths clearly. Meta interviews are language-agnostic but they want to know you're fluent in at least one.
Show you can make tradeoffs. Meta interviews test your ability to think about scaling, reliability, and cost. Your resume should hint at that judgment.
Don't front-load years of experience at one company doing the same thing. Meta values people who've taken on different challenges.
Hiring Process
Recruiter screen, then 1-2 technical phone interviews (coding or system design)
Onsite loop of 4-5 interviews: 2 coding, 1 system design, 1 behavioral
You're hired into a general pool, then do a "bootcamp" where you pick your team
The bootcamp model means your resume needs to show breadth, not just depth in one area
Interview Style
Coding interviews are done on a shared editor (no IDE). System design goes deep on scalability. Behavioral rounds ask "Tell me about a time you had impact" and they want specific numbers. The bootcamp model means they're evaluating your versatility.
